PRIVATE LESSONS: PERSONAL AND TAILORED SINGING INSTRUCTION

Individual lessons focus on the student’s voice, goals, and learning style. Singing lessons and voice training exercises are planned individually to make learning as effective and safe as possible.

  • Individual guidance – Teaching is tailored precisely to the student’s voice, level, and goals, whether the focus is classical singing, pop singing, or developing the speaking voice.
  • Rapid progress – Direct, personal feedback helps focus on individual development and strengthen vocal technique in a goal-oriented way.
  • Flexibility – The schedule and content of the lessons can be adapted to suit different life situations, for example regular singing lessons or intensive study periods.
  • Focus on technical and musical details – The teacher helps to deepen vocal technique, breathing, interpretation, and expression in a detailed way.

SMALL GROUP TEACHING: INDIVIDUALIZED SINGING LESSONS AND GUIDANCE IN A GROUP

Small group teaching combines the personal guidance of one-on-one lessons with the sense of community that comes from learning together. The group is intentionally kept small so that every participant receives individual attention and personal feedback to support their learning.

  • Personal feedback in a group – Receive individual guidance from the teacher in the presence of others, supporting goal-oriented and effective learning.
  • Collaborative learning – Learn by listening to and observing others at work, sharing experiences, and making use of the group’s collective expertise.
  • Safe and encouraging atmosphere – A small group creates a relaxed, low-threshold learning environment where it is easy to ask questions, experiment, and develop.
  • Cost-effective option – More affordable than individual lessons, yet significantly more personal and goal-oriented than large groups.

GROUP COURSES: A COMMUNITY-ORIENTED AND AFFORDABLE WAY TO LEARN MUSIC

Group courses are a relaxed and communal way to get to know singing, develop vocal use and learn vocal technique together with others. They are perfect for beginners, hobbyists and anyone looking for a motivating, social and inspiring learning environment.

  • Affordable and easy to start – Group courses are a cost-effective way to try singing, develop the voice and strengthen musical skills.
  • Motivating community – The group encourages, inspires and makes practice more fun, supporting regular singing practice.
  • Increased performance confidence – Singing with others helps to release tension, boosts self-confidence and strengthens performance skills.
  • Insights through others – New perspectives arise from observing others at work, hearing different voices and learning together.
  • Relaxed and safe atmosphere – Teaching takes place in an encouraging and safe environment where everyone can develop at their own level and at their own pace.

SEMESTER: A DIVERSE AND INSPIRING JOURNEY INTO SINGING STUDIES

The semester at Joensuu Voice Studio consists of regular and goal-oriented singing lessons during the autumn and spring terms. The teaching is built on long-term progress, and each student is given individual goals, which may relate, for example, to developing vocal technique, increasing confidence in performing, finding a personal musical style, or preparing for entrance examinations.

  • In addition to weekly individual singing lessons, students have the opportunity to take part in student concerts and other small-scale performance events organized during the academic year.

  • These concerts offer a safe and encouraging opportunity to gain performance experience, share the joy of music and singing, and follow one’s own development as a singer.

  • Performances also help to practise building a repertoire, interpretation, and interaction with the audience, which supports holistic growth as a singer and strengthens musical self-expression.
